The staff and the medical environment are just great. I would have given five stars but I am not satisfied with the lenses I had implanted. I spent $9,000. on the Panoptix. With those lenses my distance and intermediate are very good. The near for reading is disappointing and requires readers. And, I have auras and rings around oncoming headlights at night. Sometimes an overhead light at a restaurant will cause this also. My wife spent $5,000. and is pleased with her lenses because she knew she would have to wear readers. One of my neighbors opted for one lense for far and one for near and is very pleased. I wish I had done more research on the lenses. Overall, my vision is much better. Maybe my expectations were too high for the Panoptics.

My experience at St. Lukes in the Villages was absolutely phenomenal. First of all of all the five or six visual tests that I needed were done one right after the other with different technicians, and without any waiting time in between. Then I got to meet with Dr. Ireland. She advised me that having cataract surgery required that I lie flat in the operating chair during a portion of the surgery. This is normally extremely painful for me to do as a result of neck and back injuries in my past, and when I expressed that, I suggested that they take me to the surgery chair and try it out, which they did. While trying out the chair was discovered that it was painful and also inhibited my breathing. So they used a combination of rolled up sheets tucked under my back and neck until they were able to get me into very close to a lying down position, and without discomfort or pain, then Dr Ireland came in and determined she could operate with me in that position. They even provided oxygen for me during the practice session to help with my breathing. There were at least six employees around me, while this was being done to help me into the lying down position and help me to get back up again. This which they did for me was far and above anything I ever couldve expected.

The way your system works from start to finish is very professional. I was there for 2 hours and it really did not seem that long. Thank you

Staff and doctors exceptional. You're treated like family. They listen to you and then respond. I'm so glad I had the surgery. Don't hesitate to use St. Luke's for your eyecare.
