Gordon C. Keehn, MD, is a distinguished board-certified ophthalmologist with extensive expertise in comprehensive eye care and vision health management. With more than 33 years of dedicated practice in the Dallas area, Dr. Keehn brings unparalleled knowledge and compassionate care to St. Luke’s at The Villages.
Dr. Keehn’s exceptional educational journey began in Southern California, where he spent his formative years before earning his undergraduate degree in psychology with honors from North Carolina State University. His passion for medical research led him to UCLA. He conducted two years of groundbreaking vision research before pursuing his medical degree at the prestigious Tulane University School of Medicine in New Orleans.
Following his medical education, Dr. Keehn completed a comprehensive one-year transitional internship at Charity Hospital of Louisiana, developing a solid foundation in general medicine. He then specialized in ophthalmology through a rigorous residency program at the University of Texas Medical Center at Houston Hermann Eye Center. Throughout this time, his leadership qualities and clinical excellence earned him the position of Chief Resident.
For over two decades, Dr. Keehn served as Assistant Professor of Ophthalmology at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center, where he played a pivotal role in shaping the next generation of eye care specialists. His commitment to medical education and clinical excellence has contributed significantly to advancements in ophthalmology practice throughout Texas and beyond.
