This is the third time I have been to St. LUKES for eye treatment. The first time was for cataract surgery. The second was to have a lens cleaned. This time I had a hole in my retina. Another establishment had given me a late March appointment to remedy my problem. When i called St. Luke's for an appointment they gave me one within a week. The doctor examined me and suggested that i have the surgery. We live about 180 miles from them. While looking for an open date it was discovered that there was a 7:00AM opening the next day. We stayed at a motel that night and jumped on the opening. The next night I was in my own home with my eye problem corrected. While I am sure that this is not the norm St.Lukes treats you like a person, not a number. Since the last time I was there they have renovated the facility and improved their operations time wise while observing COVID practices. Everyone there is considerate, efficient and helpful. Dr. Brian Phillpotts, who performed the surgery is the ultimate physician. He is down to earth, thorough, considerate, explains everything and answers questions without appearing to be challenged as some others do. My husband is scheduled to have his cataracts taken care of this month. If you are in need of cataract or retina surgery this is the place. There was one hallway that contained pictures of former patients. It included at least one president and several well known and heeled people so you are in good company. Even if the trip is lengthy it is well worth it.
